TOURNAMENT SEASON EXTENDED UNTIL AUGUST 30th

CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 INFORMATION

Here are the guidelines that teams and fans must abide by while playing at Forsyth County Parks:

  1. YOU are responsible for ensuring your personal safety and that of your child! If you do not feel comfortable attending an organized activity at an FCPRD facility, stay home!

  2. If you are sick, experienced any recent respiratory illness, are of “high-risk”, elderly or immune compromised, please stay home.

  3. You should ONLY attend an activity at an FCPRD facility, IF you’ve had NO signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and have had NO known exposure to someone that has been ill in the last 14 days.

  4. Temperatures should be checked prior to arrival at an FCPRD facility. Coaches and parents MUST ensure that NO one be allowed to attend an event that has an above normal (above 100.4) temperature reading.

  5. ALL in attendance (FCPRD staff, players, umpires, spectators) should practice social distancing! Do not congregate in large groups. Participants and spectators should practice social distancing around concession area and while using the restrooms. DO NOT put yourself in a position that prevents you from practicing social distancing!

  6. Teams attending an event should limit their “group” to 25 or less. We ask that spectator attendance at games be limited until further notice. Those who are at “high risk” should not attend.

  7. Avoid any activities that may require direct or indirect contact (bumping, handshakes, high fives, etc) between athletes.

  8. No sharing of equipment will be allowed.

  9. Participants should use their own water bottle, towel and any other personal hygiene products.

  10. All teams will be required to use disinfectant wipes to clean all hard surfaces – benches, bat racks, dugout handles, etc.. before and after their game.

  11. All teams must remove all items and trash from the dugout/field at the end of their practice. Spectators must clear trash from the area around the field and place them in nearby trash receptacles.

  12. Batting cages are limited to 1 coach and 1 player at a time.We ask that the remaining team members and coaches spread out away from the cage and practice social distancing.

  13. We ask coaches, players, and spectators to please refrain from spitting.

  14. All staff, players, umpires, and spectators are encouraged to wear a mask or other face covering until the CDC, State or Federal authorities no longer recommend the practice.

  15. There should be no more than 3 players/coaches inside a dugout at the same time. All other team members should sit in bleachers allowing for social distancing. Area consisting of bleachers, dugouts, and space behind the backstop are reserved for players, coaches, and umpires ONLY. All other spectators should position themselves in the area from beyond the bleachers towards the outfield down the foul lines. Maintain social distancing!

  16. Spectators may ONLY enter area behind backstops to access concession stand or restrooms. Spectators should move quickly into and out of this area and may NOT linger. Additionally, they must maintain social distancing while visiting concession window or restrooms.  FORSYTH COUNTY PARKS AND REC HAS MANDATED THAT ALL SPECTATORS MUST BE POSITIONED PAST THE BLEACHER AND NOT BE POSITIONED ON ANY PORTION OF THE CONCRETE PAD THAT INCLUDES BLEACHERS, DUGOUT AREA, AND CONCESSION BUILDING.

  1. All team members and spectators must exit the complex immediately following the conclusion of their game to allow participants for the following games to access the area. Postgame team meetings must take place away from game site and should consider maintaining social distancing.

  2. Teams “waiting” to play should NOT enter the area between the bleachers and behind the backstop until all participants from the previous game have vacated the area. Maintain social distancing.

  3. Until further notice, NO one will be allowed inside (upstairs) FCPRD buildings. Additionally, scoreboards will not be used and will not be turned on during games. Teams must keep scorebooks or Tournament Directors may make other arrangements.

Restrooms that are open will be cleaned regularly throughout the day by FCPRD staff.

During this time, it is recommended that EVERYONE practice social distancing. Wash their hand frequently. Wear a mask when in public. Avoid touching your face, nose, and eyes. Protect the elderly and medically fragile. Prioritize your health. When in doubt, STAY HOME.
